 Cinco de Mayo 2009
Can for Entry and Invite: 5280 CHAC CINCO DE MAYO
Show Dates: May 1st - May 30th
Reception: May 1st, 2009, 6 - 10 pm
Drop off work on Sunday, April 26th from 12 - 4 pm
Entry Fee: CHAC Members $5, non-members $10
Limit 5 small pieces per artist, less if large
All mediums welcome. Get creative with 5's! Try to use the number 5 in your piece.

 CHAC Gallery Artist Show: Montage
Montage is exactly that! A combination of traditional and non-traditional artwork. The show will consist of hide paintings, retablos, bultos, oil paintings, drawings, straw applique and other various medias.
Opening Night: First Friday - May 1st 6pm - 10pm
Gallery Hours: Wednesday, Thursday - 10pm -4pm, Friday, 12 noon - 10pm, Saturday, 12 noon - 4pm

 Chile Harvest Festival 2009
Planning for the Chile Harvest Festival is well underway. In conjunction with the City of Lakewood, CHAC Gallery presents Chile Harvest 2009 on August 29th and 30th. Plan your part in this wonderful harvest.
May 15th is the deadline for applications! Its coming fast so get yours in ASAP. Artist and food vendor applications are available at the gallery. Calll and we'll mail one to you. In the meantime, check out this great link!

Gallery A features Crystal O'Brien and Michael J. Penny
Our own CHAC director, Crystal O'Brien uses a variety of mediums to express her eclectic and colorful personality. Her unique works appear to take on a life of their own. Check out her latest creative offerings at Gallery A.
Michael's artwork reflects the custom beliefs and artistry of ancient civilizations. He combines the natural beauty of stone and the expressive texture of deep relief sand carvings. See his unique sandblasting techniques in Gallery A this month.

Robert Martinez returns to Gallery B this month. His paintings are both contemporary and traditional. He is inspired by the artists Malcolm Furlow, John Nieto, and Fritz Shrolder to name a few. Bob enjoys working with bold colors, and a variety of subjects from Native American to modern.

CHAC gallery is looking for your extras to help supply the galleries. We are dependent on donations for many of our everyday items. These are the items we need the most. Please help us replenish our supply cabinets if you can!

 Kid's Art Saturday
The third Saturday of May features Carlos Santistevan working on retablos with the kids. Come in for a free workshop from 2 to 4 pm on May 16th for this special event. Carlos' work is featured in the Artist's Gallery during the month of May in the "Montage" show at CHAC.
